Assignment 1: English for Careers Medicine 1
1. Read the medical text "The Complete Book of Medicine" by R. W. Seaman. Your goal is to find all the information about the four fundamental functions of the human body. If you don't understand any of the vocabulary, you may use the glossary and index to find out what they mean. Each concept is introduced and explained briefly and again in more detail.
2. At the end of the book there are ten questions for you to answer. Some of the questions may be tricky, so you may need help. Be sure to use a dictionary if you can't find the exact meaning of any of the words, and a medical dictionary if you need to look up a disease or medication.
3. Use the information you've learned about the body's basic functions to answer the questions at the end of this chapter.
